I was just going over some of the videos on my website and really getting more into what these products can do and found out that these products are so much more than a weight loss product. There are so many phenomenal athletes that are using these products everyday and having such tremendous results. I just can't believe how well they have helped people like Drew Brees, Sam Bradford, and Veronica Campbell-Smith. I decided to let my son start some of the products and his energy levels have truly shot through the roof, he is even energetic enough to help with the dishes... HA! Seriously though, I am so excited to see what more of the products can do to help him with his upcoming season! Don't negotiate with yourself!!! Promise yourself that you are absolutely going to do it. Make a commitment. Whatever you name it, make it happen even after your initial enthusiasm fades. Make it Actionable Is your goal concrete enough? Many of us fail because we haven't turned it into something to actually do. Actions tell you HOW you are going to do something – I am going to go to bed earlier and exercise 30 minutes daily to have more energy; To succeed you must know what actions you are going to take. Come Up with Solutions for Your Usual Excuses What is your usual litany of excuses and rationalizations? One way to think about this is to ask yourself what has gotten in your way in the past when you have tried to do this resolution or any other. Forgetting? No time? Losing interest? Not knowing how to begin? Because of the way our brains are hardwired, we have a strong tendency to repeat behavior over and over. Schedule It In Before Jan. 2012, I never exercised a day in my life. Since then, I have kept my resolution to exercise 30 minutes a day about 80 percent of the time. How did I do it? Put into my day planner and treated it as an appointment with an employee or student. Do it Daily It takes a long time to develop a habit! Even if you can't find but 5 minutes, at least take that time to think about the progress you made that day, write down your food, plan out tomorrow, do something that moves you in the right direction. Take It One Choice At a Time When we think about changing something in ourselves, it can feel overwhelming. But in truth, our entire lives are constructed of the minute-by-minute choices we are making, many of which we are not even aware of. You can choose differently, moment to moment. The next day, make the positive choice visible to yourself: I'm choosing to eat this apple today rather than the candy bar from the vending machine. Find Someone Who's Doing What You Want and Imitate Them Find positive people that are working towards your same goal and set out to work along side one another to lose weight and feel great. If you continually surround yourself with negative people, you are constantly fighting against the ODDS. Teach It to Someone Else A great way to really cement a new habit is to become a mentor. I know that by outlining my daily plans, and being accountable to any of the readers or my team members who are currently on this challenge, it holds me accountable as well. I want to continue to lose weight and teaching others what is working for me motivates me to continue on my own journey. Treat Yourself Kindly Again, I told you my favorite saying previously, is "You are NOT what you think you are, but you ARE what you think" so start believing you are more. You deserve to get fit and love life just as much as the next person, so set yourself up to do just that!!! The best thing about this company is what they stand for, I mean look at their name alone, ADVOCARE (meaning they are an advocate for health and they care about making people successful.) I have been in communication with the woman that sponsored me and she is consistently been like a rock. Keeping me up to date on everything going on, and yet also making sure that I am staying on track. I think that most diets I have been on in the past, are like fads. They are in and then they are out. I know I get bored doing the same thing over and over again and haven't found the right plan to keep me focused on my goal. Even sitting in meetings became mundane after a while and I never felt that their concern was genuine. I feel that I have truly found a product that encompasses everything I am looking for and more. The opportunity to care about someone else, and help motivate them to lose weight and make a business at the same time, is something that is inspiring. After my initial 24 days on this program I lost 21 lbs and 16 inches. Amazing results. But it was also hard work and a lot of determination that got me to this point. I have been on a journey for quite a while, but this program truly is what kick started my noticeable weight loss. In just this picture alone you can see where my double (ok so maybe triple) chin has been removed and although I have soooo much more weight to lose, this seems to be what is working. I wake up every morning and reach for my spark and vitamin pack. And having a CHOCOLATE shake for breakfast, YUMMY! I have tried alternative protein powders and such, but nothing has made me feel as full and has had such a great taste as this Advocare Meal Replacement Shake, I love food so I don't do it every morning, but when I am in a hurry, I don't want to leave without breakfast, so I reach for me shake. Now that I have finished the initial phase of this diet, I will be continuing on another MNS packet and adding what is called Catalyst. I have read that is will:
I am meal planning today and going to be posting some new recipes. The nice thing I have been able to do is start cooking healthy overall, and feeding it to my husband and children who are none the wiser. I think its time we all start getting fit and loving life, don't you? Be blessed! So remember how I told you earlier that it was time for me to really start taking care of myself. Well today is exactly that! I took off work, sent the boys to school and my hubby to work and have been spending all day setting myself up for success. I have prepared my grocery list to go shopping this weekend, I have looked at different ways to build my business and have truly enjoyed being centered in peace and tranquility! Trust me you should try this.
------------------------------ So for the next part of the 24 Day Challenge, it is just as important to be prepared as you were for the first 10. It is very easy to get through the first 10 days and feel phenomenal and then think to yourself "well I lost weight so I can have a cheat day" DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE!!! It is only 14 more days, start each day with the same determination and motivation and conquer your addictions, your cravings and your desire for more. I promise if you stick with it, you are going to be so much stronger, much more energetic, and so happy with yourself for completing something you started. I know that people say it takes 30-45 days to really make a habit stick, but after completing this 24 day challenge you are going to feel like you just want more. I would suggest that you take your measurements and step back on the scale. You will have already lost some inches, and I am sure you will have lost a few pounds. That is so motivating!!! So prepare the same type of foods, but decide if you want to take out or curb your carb intake on a cycle, or continue with your current eating plan. I had a hard time cutting out my melba toast at lunch, it was soooo good. (I never thought I would be saying that!) But if you decide that you are strong enough to do it, try a (3) three day no carb to (1) one low carb day. That way you are not completely depriving yourself. Start telling people about what you are taking. They are going to start noticing a difference in you. It may be that your face is slimming or you may lose some water weight, but they are definitely going to notice a difference in your energy and attitude. I wake up everyday and just jump out of bed, and that is an amazing change from where I was just 24 days ago. I know that I have so much more to lose, but I definitely am headed in the right direction. I know that I am slowly getting healthier, and learning to live the life I know is made for me!!! As you decide to take the 24 day challenge, it is so important that you first write down WHY AM I DOING THIS??? Just answer that one question, because you have to have something to hold on to as you undertake this program. I remember very clearly something that our pastor said, and it stuck with me so closely that I used it as my mantra for this diet and continue to use it everyday. He said "You are NOT what you think you are, but you ARE what you think, so always remember I AM MORE" That was the key for me, I AM MORE!!! I said it to myself every time I got up in the morning, every evening as I prepared for the next day and through every craving.
I have always been the one to help everyone, I have always been the one that people call when they need to talk, or they need a favor because I ALWAYS go above and beyond for everyone else; but, I stopped doing the most important thing and that was taking care of myself. Not to the point of selfishness, that was not going to happen, but I just had to remember that I have to care more about myself because I am worth it. I am worth more than getting up in pain every day, I am worth more than worrying about my blood sugar constantly, I am worth more than all of the things that I was putting in my body day after day ... so is that selfish, no, but it was that point that I had to get to in order to succeed. So after that where do we go? We get started and we commit to doing it the right way. It's 24 days, not a lifetime, but if you could change your life and feel so much better in just 24 days isn't that completely worth it. So let's get started. Follow the directions of the 24 day challenge to the T. Get your cell phone out (I know we all have them) and set up alarms. Getting started I had a big struggle with remembering to eat my snacks. Once I got to day three, it was so much easier and it helped curb my cravings. I am going to give you my schedule, but PLEASE remember that this has to work for you and not me, so figure out what schedule it best for you. 5:45 a.m. - Got up and drank the Fiber 10 Drink (trust me you want the peaches and cream, NOT the citrus) (Days 1-3 & 8-10) - Drank a Spark and took the Restore Packet 6:15 - 6:30 After my shower, I made my turkey and egg scramble (see the recipe on the RECIPE page) Took (2) OmegaPlex 9:30 - 10:00 Ate my fruit mixture and 1/4 C of NO SALT ADDED Almonds 12:30 Ate my Turkey or Chicken Breast Deli slices, 3 pieces of Roasted Garlic Melba Toast, and Cold veggies (carrots, cucumbers, etc) 3:00 Ate the second half of my fruit mixture and 1/4 C of NO SALT ADDED Almonds 6:00 - 7:00 Made one of my favorite dinner recipes (See my RECIPE page) Take 2 OmegaPlex 10:00 Took the Herbal Cleanse Packet (Days 1-7) Now, this again is just what worked for me, you can add the Advocare Shakes and Bars, or plenty of other healthy foods that may work best for you. Just make sure that you do the research and measure out your meals. Use smaller plates so that you don't feel like you are not eating as much. I really thought at first that looking at the food I could and could not eat, I would be starving through this whole diet, but there were more days of feeling almost stuffed rather than hungry. I know that adjusting your life around a diet is not easy, but I can't stress to you enough how much this helped provide so much more structure for me. Remember it is important to keep your reason for doing this in the forefront of your mind. You are worth more than you think you are, and you deserve to Get Fit and Love the Life you are living!!! I got started 23 days ago and it was so overwhelming at first. I had to really plan everything out. I figured if I was going to spend the amount of money I was on this product then I was definitely going to follow it to the letter of the law. I found out after planning it all out that it really wasn't that hard. With just a couple simple recipes to get me started I was ready to go. Measurements were necessary. Not just a weight but really looking at measuring so many different areas. Most of the time with this product you are able to lose inches more than pounds and trust me those count. Starting out first, you must get your measurements on your shoulders, chest, abs, waist, hips, thighs, arms and ankles; then your weight as well. Write these down in a place that will be kept safe. (I often email important things to myself so that I can quickly refer to it.) Next, start writing down your menu for at least the first 10 days. When buying fresh vegetables and fruits you don't want to keep them in the fridge and risk them going bad, so be prepared to shop again in 10 days. I really did tend to follow the same meal plan each and every day. It just became easier to prepare and there was not a lot of thought that went into it. I may have switched things up at dinner time, but breakfast and lunch were pretty much the same (and really still are today). My shopping list consists of: Turkey Bacon ~ Egg Beaters ~ Red, Yellow and Green Peppers ~ Onions ~ Mrs. Dash (various spices) ~ Deli Chicken Meat (thinly sliced) ~ Chicken Breast ~ Ground Turkey Meat ~ Taco Seasoning (low sodium) ~ Tilapia ~ Brown Rice ~ Fresh Spinach ~ Romaine Lettuce ~ Almonds ~ Strawberries ~ Red Apples ~ Stevia ~ Oatmeal (slow cooked) and black beans. I am sure that I could have bought more, but I really wanted to stick to just a few things and make large batches of them. It just made things easier and more consistent. Each of the recipes that I made were also very easily put together. It did take some preparation in the beginning, but it was totally worth it. I really found that this program did more than just improve my health, it has instilled some true organization in my life that was sorely lacking. I now get up in the morning, make my breakfast, make a HOT breakfast for my children, and also send them to school with a homemade lunch each day. I used to be all about the Pop Tarts and Sugared Cereals, and then had them buy their lunches everyday. I figured, how could I improve my health and still allow my children to stay unhealthy. That would just not make any sense. The night before I started to prepare my food. Some pointers that really helped me are:
You may be more of a spur of the moment type of person, but I really think if you are going to do this the right way, you must make it as easy as possible for yourself. I will go through the entire program over the next few days, so I hope that you enjoy reading my experience. You have to find what works for you though, so if this isn't it, let's figure out what will together. Let me know your concerns and I will walk you through the entire process because everyone deserves to GET FIT and LOVE LIFE!!! |
